Windows 10: Computer connects to my phone's hotspot but wont connect to my router.

Everytime ai try connecting to my router it says "Can't connect to network". Password is correct, checked many times. Reset network 3 times, tried updating my drivers as well. Still no change. All other devices can connect fine, it's just my computer. Not sure if this is a router issue or a device issue. Tried connecting through WPA as well, doesn't work. Error message: "Unable to retrieve settings automatically, please enter password"After typing it in, it tells me it can't connect to the network.

Can't Connect to Network from Router, Can From Phone Hotspot (Through the Same Router)

I've been using my PC without issue for a year. This morning, I was able to go online without a problem. Returning after work, I could not connect to my wifi router. I keep getting an error message that it cannot connect to this network. I was able
to connect both my phone and my laptop to the router. I was able to connect my PC to the phone as a hotspot using my regular calling plan. And now, I am on my home internet connection using the phone as a go-between hotspot.

I am on an older PC with a Belkin wireless adapter. I'm using Windows 10. The signal between the router and the PC is strong (five bars). It can read my home network fine. It just doesn't want to connect unless I use my phone as a go-between.

Any suggestions? This just doesn't make sense to me.

my phone connects to the wife hotspot. win 10 desktops not. just checked that windows 7 desktop connects with my hotspot. To be clear. I turn hotspot with my laptop. my phone shows connection and it connects , windows 7 desktop shows connection and it connects, but windows 10 desktops does not show my laptop's hotspot connection at all. And it happened after i did windows update on my laptop...

That Cannot connect to this network message is frustratingly uninformative. I have seen it myself and I fixed it with the network troubleshooter at Settings, Update, Troubleshoot, Internet connections. The Troubleshooter will disable then re-enable your wifi network adapter but that will not be a problem. {Disabling does not necessitate physical removal of anything, it's all just software jiggery-pockery}

I bet you will succeed in connecting another computer to your phone's hotspot but, if not, it would point to something like having accidentally restricted your hotspot to named equipment only [for example, my hotspot is deliberately limited to connecting to my router & each of my own computers as a defence against intrusion].

So try the troubleshooter and, even if it fixes the problem, don't forget to check for updated drivers & bios on your computer maker's website.
