Blue Screen crashes - usually memory related

    Hi all

I'm experiencing random blue screen crashes and they seem to be related to memory management.

I've been using the "WhoCrashed" app to read the dump files and it shows that the crashes are memory and pfn list related.

I've addeed a link to the WhoCrashed report, can anyone make sense of this and help me?

  3. Numerous crashes and errors generally related to memory

Hello friends, I've had memory related crashing on this computer for a long time, and I REALLY want to get it finally solved.

Solutions I've tried hundreds of times

    • diskhealth
    • sfc scannow (never finds an error)
    • memtesting (done it twice this year with memtest, no errors ever)
    • replacing graphic card (swappred old GTX 1050 for a brand new GTX 1660S)
    • installing latest graphics card drivers
    • replacing storage (swapped HDD with a brand new SSD)
    • using only windows drivers (not drivers from dodgy driver programs)
I've crashed twice today. Heres a few of the latest ones.

    • "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" caused by hal.dll
    • "UNEXPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP" caused by ntoskrnl.exe
    • "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" caused by hal.dll
    • "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" caused by nvlddmkm.sys
    • "MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" caused by hal.dll

I am happy to give way more information, but typically my posts go unread and unhelped so I'll only do so as people ask for more to solve the issue.

    Hi Mark,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

We would like to know the following information to assist you better.

    1. Did you make any changes to the pc prior to this issue?

I would also suggest you to follow the below steps to fix the issue.

Step 1: Once you are on the desktop run
System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.

    Follow the steps:

    SFC scan:

    • Press Windows logo + X
    • Select command prompt admin
    • Type ‘sfc /scannow’ (without quotes) and press enter.
    • Restart your computer.
    Refer link:
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support.

I suggest you to disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except mouse and the keyboard and restart the pc to check if you are able to get to the desktop screen.

I would also suggest you to install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

These crashes were related to memory corruption (Probably caused by a driver).

Step 2: I would suggest you to run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

    1. Since it is more likely to be a driver issue please run verifier first.

You can refer to the Wi-Ki article for diver verifier.

    Redirecting

    2. If verifier does not find the issue we can move on to the memory test.

You can refer to the Wi-Ki article for Memtest.

    Redirecting

Hope this information is helpful, if not let us know with the updated status and we will be happy to assist you further.
