    computer crash when updating 3080 driver


    with both windows 10 and 11 my computer crashes whenever I try to update the drivers on my gigabyte 3080. it has the drivers from back in February but anytime I try to update the driver my computer freezes and I have to restore windows

    3080 Extreme Black Screen Crashes

    I had a full weekend of gaming with the 2080Ti with no crashes. The 3080 usually crashes within 1-2 hours.

    Someone on another forum suggested I update to the latest Windows build. I will next try 20h2 with the 3080.

    W1zzard is asking you to test so that he can suggest next steps and be able to troubleshoot the issue you have.
    If another version works, it would be one set of steps.
    If several other versions also fail/crash, then it would be another.

    To assist you better please help me with the below information.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Have you installed all the pending updates on your computer?
    • Did you make any recent software hardware/software changes on your computer?


    As an initial step I would suggest you to install all the pending updates on your computer and also uninstall any applications or programs which is no more in use on your computer.

    The error which you face when the computer crashes is possible caused due to outdated or corrupted display & graphic drivers on your computer. So suggest you to Update your display & Graphic drivers on your computer and check if it addresses the issue.
