  1. Computer Crashes after a sequence of WMI warnings and a Universal Print Error

The Problem: While playing Call of Duty on my PC, my screens go blank and becomes unresponsive. I must restart the computer. This has happened once where I wasn't playing a video game, but it seems to trigger a lot more while playing. When I check the Event Viewer under the Applications Tab, I see the following sequence: 3 Warnings WMI is the Source and 63 are the Event IDs. Following the three warnings is an Error: Universal Print is the source and 1 is the Event ID. EVERY time this has happened, the event view says the same.My computer Asus Prime x299 Deluxe, Nvidia RTX4090 is running Wind

  2. Error around Universal Print -- How can I fix and do I even need to use Universal Print?

    Dear GraniteStateColin

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you seem to be receiving errors related to the Universal Print . These errors occur after booting up and when manually starting the service, suggesting that the issue may be due to a missing or corrupted McpManagementService.dll file, which is a runtime library file related to remote printing in Universal Print.

You mentioned that you have tried running the DISM command for system repair. Did you encounter any errors while running that command?

Since you don't need the remote printing functionality, you can disable the service. However, if you want to fully resolve the issue, you can choose to replace the faulty McpManagementService.dll file with the correct version of the same file. There are two ways to obtain the correct McpManagementService.dll:

    1. Find the file on another computer that doesn't have the error: Go to \WINDOWS\System32\McpManagementService.dll, right-click on it, select Properties, and check the file version in the Details tab. If the file version matches the version on your computer, you can copy the correct McpManagementService.dll file from the other computer to replace the faulty file on your computer.
    2. Search online for someone sharing the file: Look for someone who is sharing the file online. Make sure to download a file that matches the version of the file on your computer.
You also mentioned that you downloaded the HP Universal Print driver and you want to understand the difference between that and the Universal Print in Windows. Universal Print technology is a cloud-based printing solution provided by Microsoft. It allows printing directly over the network without the need for local printer configuration. On the other hand, the HP Universal Print driver is specifically designed for HP printers and is required for local printer configuration when using HP printers.

If the problem is still not solved by the above steps, you can share the recent progress with me in the reply. I will work with you to try other possible solutions to resolve the problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to your reply.
