Windows 10: Computer crashes at random intervals. Sometimes when gaming, other times during browsing.

Hello. I have had this recurring issue with the computer I bought which was custom built.


The Issue is as follows:


Whether I'm gaming or just browsing the internet, the screen goes completely black and unresponsive Not even Ctrl +Alt + Del works

The system stays between 1 - 5 minutes with the screen black and then automatically reboots on its own. The audio sometimes glitches/loops continously until the automatic reboot happens. This happens sometimes several times a day and other times once or twice a week.


Upon reviewing this in the event viewer, the latest error message was as follows:


The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000133 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000001e00, 0xfffff8041d8fa320, 0x0000000000000000. A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 073e00ff-a769-40dc-8d82-aa8159675aad.

Random BSOD while browsing internet


BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.

In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?

Windows 10: How to change a theme slideshow time interval?

If you want to set intervals of your choice, you can do it by modifying the registry. Please follow the below steps to set the slideshow intervals:

1. Open Run and type regedit.exe
   
2. Navigate to:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Personalization\Desktop Slideshow
   

In here, the two important values are the Interval, and Shuffle.

Double click on Shuffle, and change the value to 1. OK.

Then change the Interval by double clicking on it. You'll first want to change the Base to Decimal, rather than Hexadecimal (otherwise you'll get unexpected interval values). Then change the value to your desired time, in milliseconds (10000ms for 10 seconds).

You can exit regedit now. The final step is to restart Explorer. You can do this through Task Manager if you know how, otherwise simply restart your computer.
