I keep getting BSOD's and random crashes, seems like it happens mostly under load, but I'm unsure. I'm thinking it could be RAM related, as I'm playing Minecraft and have quite a bit of RAM allocated to it. I would post the .dmp file, but not sure how to, and what I need to include. I just want to be able to properly understand the crashes.. I opened the .dmp file in WinDbg, but have no clue how to read it and find the problem. Any help is much appreciated.

    :)

10 Crashing Randomly and During Updates and File Downloads

This is a re-post from here.

I have a Windows 10 PC that I run 24/7. I have Windows Updates disabled through the Group Policy Editor. I still perform updates manually every few days. Windows Defender updates work fine. Other Windows updates cause the PC to crash, no BSOD or anything, it just turns off. I've looked for 1074, 6006, and 6008 event log files to explain why and I haven't been able to find anything.

Other times the computer just randomly crashes and also sometimes when downloading files. The symptom is the same, I check on it and find it powered down or it just shuts off while I'm using it. It boots back up fine and I see no cause listed in the event logs.

I have been through the 3 tests suggested to me on the old thread. SMART looked good, memtest ran for 33 hours for 8 passes with no errors, and prime was run for 3 hours with no errors.

I think the next step was to run V2 Log collector, that data is attached.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

My computer randomly crash and show weird colors

This really happen randomly. My computer can be on for 10 minutes or 4 hours before it happens. When this shows up I have choice but to manually restart.

It can get really hard to troubleshoot since I can play games for 3-5 hours without it crashing. Then I'm like "Yeah! I finally fixed it!". The next time I turn on my computer watch a movie for 15 minutes, crash(see image below) Computer crashes randomly, does a driver scan everytime I turn it on :(

I sometime get this error in the event viewer:

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Hi-Rez Studios Authenticate and Update Service service to connect.

I did some research and could not find what this means exactly. [This was fixed after I uninstalled SMITE]

    My specs:

I don't know what can be wrong with my computer I already tried a few things to troubleshoot but can't find what is wrong.

    1. I just got my video card replaced and I also tried it in another computer and it works fine.
    2. I tried another power supply. Does the same thing.
    3. Switched my RAM sticks into almost every possible ways. Also tried just 1 stick.
    4. I did a virus scan, hard drive test and memtest.
    5. Wait for a few video drivers update
    6. Test it on two different monitor. One at a time and with a different cable.
    7. I reinstalled Windows

What should be my next step?

I still have not tried to:

    • Buy a better CPU fan (currently have the stock one)
    • Try another CPU or
      motherboard

    Update:

I still have not found how to fix this. If you have any suggestions let me know

I will do more testing tonight and will post an update tomorrow.

    Currently testing:

On my motherboard I have a switch to go from BIOS1, BIOS2 or BIOS3.
Right now I'm trying the different options.
If this does not work I'll try to update the BIOS.

Computer crashes randomly, does a driver scan everytime I turn it on

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
