Windows 10: Computer destroyed for real after Windows update - black screen after update

Dear Rota, we had some previous interaction, see messages below and more saved. I a nutshell, I always had a blackscreen after a forced Microsoft update - and everything was fine after deintalling the update. However Microsoft prevents not-updating on the long term...After the recommended update from your side see below, my computer ist dead/destroyed, so I brought it to the local Lenovo Premium Partner. There is was told, that this is the 4th case only in the last 2 weeks, where the motherboard was destroyed, after the Windows Update, and all motherboards where from the same type. They susp

Black Screen During Driver Update

I reinstalled my laptop back to factory settings, and I wanted to update the GPU drivers. But when I try, the screen turns black during the update, but the computer is still running. I was forced to turn off the computer and turn it back on. I used system restore, so now I'm using the default drivers that came with the laptop. Can you guys suggest anything?

 

Windows 7 black screen of death

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.
