Windows 10: Computer Docking Issue

I'm suddenly having difficulty accessing my applications when I dock my laptop to a monitor. I'm having difficulty accessing Teams and even my Excel is buggy and unusable when I am docked. This is happing on different docks. Please advise. Thanks!

HDD Docking

• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• What is the make and model of the docking station?
  

The computer docking connections located on the bottom of the computer vary between computer models. For the docking station to work properly, the docking posts, eject mechanisms, and electrical connections on the docking station must be compatible
with the connections on your computer model.



Meanwhile, if the docking station is compatible, you may update the device drivers for your docking station and check if it works.



Update device drivers for docking station:

• Open the PC manufacturer support Web site, search for the
  Docking Station Driver for your PC model.
  
• Install the driver suggested and check.
  

If the issue persists, update the BIOS and try connecting the Docking Station again.



Note:

Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the
configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Windows 10 - Laptop computer Window configurations and docking issues

I am trying to maintain docked configurations.



On my previous computer, a Dell M4800 and Dell dock, the Windows configuration could detect the docked/un-docked state and arrange the windows for either the single screen or the dual screens. This was very convenient as I docked and u-docked the computer often.



Currently, I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 running Windows 10 pro, that is used both independently and with the Surface Pro dock and dual Dell monitors. This computer does not seem to recognize the window placements when docked. In this case, I simply get all of the windows saved with different sizes to one of the Dell monitor screens. Originally, I assumed that this may have been due to the difference in resolution between the screens (Microsoft Surface Pro 7 screen size is 2736 x 1824, the Dell monitors are 1920 x 1080).



If I leave it docked, and just use it daily without un-docking, it works just fine.



I would like to maintain the window placements for both the docked and un-docked configurations.



Recently, I decided to purchase a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop which I used with a Thunderbolt 4 dock. This computer turned out to be even worse, requiring me to start the computer independently, then connect to the dock (the computer has no ability to be controlled from the dock). In this case, all of the windows would just be jumbled up on one screen with random placement and sizes.



I have two questions:

1. Is there a setting (or series of settings) that could maintain the both windows configurations for both the docked and un-docked Windows placements?
   

1. If these settings do not exist, is there a laptop computer / dock combination that will give me the two configurations like I described above for the Dell M4800?
   

 

I cannot connect to home Wi-Fi off the docking station but not on docking station.

1. I cannot connect to home Wi-Fi off the docking station but not on docking station.
2. When i'm on docking station system says i'm connected to home Wi-Fi, but when i browse says not connected.
3. Other devices connected to home Wi-Fi has no issue.
4. What steps can i take to resolve the issue other than updating Wi-Fi adapter driver?
