Windows 10: Computer Does Not Retain Any Passwords, Showing "Keyset does not exist" error message

First the specifics:

I am running Windows 10 Home on a 64 bit Desktop computer. I have Office 365.


Last year, my daughter used this computer to do some school work, in which they used Office 365 Online. I am not sure what she did, but when we opened up programs like Excel or Word on the Desktop, it was showing it to be logged in to her even though she is not the administrator on this computer. It was a bit of a nuisance, but didn't cause any real issues, so we just ignored it.


Within the past week, some automated Microsoft updates were applied to my computer. Now, it cannot remember any passwords to any programs. When I log in to Outlook, I need to supply the password every time. And online programs which I have set to remember the password do not. I have to log in every time.


The Notification Panel says that there is a problem with our account. If I click on it to get more details, it says this:


Something went wrong


Your computer's Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned. If this error persists, contact your system administrator with the error code 80090016.


And it says:


Keyset does not exit.


When I Googled this, I found a bunch of stuff mentioning TPM and Azure. I really know nothing about either of those things. I tried following some instructions to log into Azure, but that didn't get me anywhere. I did not see any accounts listed under users.


I just want to get my computer functioning properly again! I would just as soon like to remove my daughter's school account information from the computer altogether. She has her own laptop now, and does not need this on this computer anymore.

Keyset doesn't exist

I reset my password two days or so ago and then when I was trying to figure out an issue with Skype saying my pin was an issue, I discovered that my account on my Microsoft computer stated that I needed to verify my identity. When I tried to do that, it
gave me an error saying "Keyset doesn't exist". What do I do?

Yes, I clicked on verify, which is what brought up that window about the keyset not existing.
