Windows 10: Computer doesn't even connect to screen after changing intel rst

Hi,


I got my new MSI trident x today. I tried to dual boot ubuntu but due to the intel rst could not do so. So I followed a guide which suggested me to type


bcedit /set {current} safeboot minimal

I then tried to enter the BIOS but nothing happened. After a couple of minutes I decided to restart the computer and then nothing worked.


My computer starts when I press the start button, but after a while the fans goes out and it shuts down. It doesnt connect to the screen.


What should I do? It is a bit of a nightware as I spent all my money on this hardware..

Intel RST service is not running

The Intel RST service is for the Intel Rapid Storage Driver. The Intel Rapid Storage Driver provides speed for data transfer and improves the performance for SATA drives or PCIe drives.

• What is the make and model of the computer and motherboard?
  

You can follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Changing the startup type for Service

You can try changing the startup type for the Intel RST service and check if that makes a difference. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type serivces.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, scroll down, look for Intel RST service, right click on it and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Now, under startup type select Automatic from the drop down menu.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

Method 2: Updating the drivers manually

You can try downloading the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Driver from the

Intel Website and check if that helps. However, I would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer website as well.

TechNet forums, where we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on RAID configuration.

Lumia 620 doesn`t connect to computer via usb cable

Hi yall and thanks for the replies!



Unfortunately, the were of no help.



The phone isn`t listed in device manager, the list of devices doesn`t change if I have my phone connected to my computer(s). There are no mystery devices, no yellow triangle -markings or anything even remotely pointing to the direction the phone being connected.

It could be that my phone has a broken usb port, but it makes me wonder that it still charges the battery when connected to a computer.



This is not a big problem for me, that I must admit, but still, it kinda bugs me that the phone doesn`t work the way it`s supposed to work,



Anyways, if somebody comes up with something that might help, I am most grateful.

edit: Also, I have my laptop almost always connected to charger. Tried without charger just for the heck of it, didn`t help.

 

Unable to change from Intel RST (fakeraid) to AHCI

For various reasons, I am attempting to change my system from Intel RST to AHCI.

I followed the various guides I have found on the internet to go about this.

Here was my process:

1. cmd: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal

2. regedit: changed Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci\StartOverride "0" Dword value from 3 to 0

3. restart computer into UEFI firmware settings

4. change from Intel RST to AHCI.

After following these steps, I get a message about starting up automatic system repair. I then get a classic blue screen. Starting up cmd from there puts me on X:\, not C:\. attempting to cd C:\ gives me an error that it is inaccessible.

I then opened regedit from cmd, and checked the Dword value that I changed earlier. Despite my original changes, this value was still set to three.

I am running a Lenovo Legion Y530 with a 2TB HDD and 16GB Optane.
