I downloaded some software for my work such as: Autocad, Sketchup, Vray, WinRAR, Foxit PhantomPDF, CCleaner and Microsoft 365. Ever since then my PC has been restarting itself at the worst possible times. Error 2In addition to these abrupt restarts, I've also been experiencing the BSOD. Random restarts

when you start the computer up press F8 repeatedly until you get a list of how to start windows, choose do not automatically restart on system failure. if your getting bsod's list what your getting here so we can further help you. IF the system is not getting bsod's and still restarting as you say then i would look into getting a line conditioner for your computer as you might be having power issues.

    Computer restarting

I took out one of the sticks and it's working now. RAM wasn't on my list cause I thought bad ram would give BSODs not restarts. Boy was I wrong! Thanks for the help i789.

EDIT: I ran the Windows 7 memory stability test on the remaining stick and it passed the test. Half an hour later the comp crashed again. Is it still the RAM?

    Experiencing slowness onthe computer.

    Hi,

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down to the issue.

    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    • Was it an upgrade or an update?

    • If it was an upgrade, which was the previous operating system installed on the device?

    • If it was an update which update did you install?
I would like to inform you that it is bit difficult to pin point on what exactly causes the issue, however we will narrow down the issue one by one and find a suitable solution.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run the
System Maintenance troubleshooter which finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

    • Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
    • Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
    • Select System Maintenance.
    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
Also check if the computer is using its full memory.

    • Press Windows key + R and type msconfig.
    • Go to Advance options and check if you have chosen use Maximum memory.
If not, I suggest you to place a check mark, restart the computer and check if that helps.

Hope the information helps in resolving the computer slowness. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.
