    Computer freezes after detecting an unrecognized USB driver \Driver\ACPI


    If I leave my computer on overnight, by morning it's locked up and requires a hard reset to get it back up and running. This has been going on for over 6 months now. When I look through the logs in Event Viewer, I always see the following error right as the last entry before the reboot: Detected unrecognized USB driver \Driver\ACPI, source hcmon.


    I went through all of the USB devices in the device manager and tried to update them automatically, that didn't help. When I look at Properties > Details > Device stack, I notice that only some of the USB devices include the ACPI driver but not all of them.


    What do I need to update or fix so that this issue goes away and I can leave my computer on over night with it freezing up?

    “Missing ASUS ACPI Driver windows 10

    There is a step by step guide on what to do here
    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1959382/missing-asus-acpi-driver-windows-back.html     It refers to Windows 8, but the remedy has worked for many other people.

    If you don't feel like trying that yourself, then all that I can suggest is that you ask you local computer store to help, or find a friend who understands windows computers, show them this thread and ask them to help you with the process of installing the
    hotkey utility.

    Unrecognized USB device (device descriptor request failed)

    Are you still around?

    Sorry if none of that helped. I have tried pretty much everything else that has been suggested by others such as:

    Uninstalling the unrecognized device and restarting

    Uninstalling the USB drivers and restarting.

    Trying every USB port on my computer.

    Updating the drivers for every device

    listed under universal serial his controllers in the device manager.

    Please reply, I know there's got to be a way to fix this.
