    Computer freezes entirely upon receiving a notification from Action Center


    Hi, I recently got a new windows 10 laptop, and it only recently last 3 days started experiencing an issue where whenever I get a notification from action center, there is a 50/50 chance the entire computer screen will freeze. The only solution I've found is to manually restart the computer, and it's incredibly annoying since it also causes me to lose changes to Excel files that I have open almost all the time. Any help would be appreciated.Specs:Windows 10 64-bit version 20H2AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Processor 3.2GHz16GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce GTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU

    Currently running the latest Windows 10 Home update. Every time I receive a notification via the action center (i.e. mail, calendar, plug-in device), and then click on it, the action center freezes. Ultimately, the items do not open and the only way to
    get action center working again is to restart windows explorer.

    I currently have a brand new Dell XPS 15 (9550)-- 16gb RAM, i7, 512gb. Any help on this would be great, as this is a great annoyance on the computer.

    Stop action center notifications in Windows 10

    • Do you want to stop notifications only from Defender or stop all action center notifications?
    To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:


    • Type settings in search bar and hit
      enter.

    • Go to system.

    • Select notifications and actions.

    • Click on turn system icons on or off.

    • Turn off action center.

    Action center will freeze afterclicking on the received notification in Windows 10.

    I have the same problem, I get it every time I start up as I get a notification 'can not reconnect all network drives'. Once I click the notification not only does it freeze but also the task bar, menu and Cortana freezes.

    I have been through all the steps you suggest and have got nowhere, to get round the problem I kill and restart explorer a number of times until the problem stops.
