    Computer freezes if a game application is booted and allowed with the firewall


    Hey guys I currently have a Windows 10 system dual booted with Linux. For a while now the system work flawlessly on both ends applications and all. Recently though after going through some updates on 10 now applications that are games and need permission on the firewall crashes the system this will happen if you allow or close the pop up. If it's blocked all together before hand it works fine but then online services won't work. I assume there's something that's being mishandled on drivers or a system file any suggestions?For system specs I'm running aRyzen 9 3900x7900xt on the lastest adrenal

    Hi,

    To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to block apps and programs from accessing network connection through Windows Firewall:

    • Open Control Panel and click System and Security.
    • On the Windows Firewall page, select Allow a program through Windows Firewall.
    • Uncheck the box to the left of the application names to disallow them from accessing network connection.
    • If other programs are not listed, just click Allow another program/app button to add them.

    Windows Firewall - how to allow access

    I believe that my firewall is blocking access to Family Tree Maker / Ancestry / MacKiev SYNC - I can't see any reference to any of these names in the allowed list ....

    I can't see any way of adding to the allowed list

    Any suggestions ?

    • How are you trying to watch the videos? Which browser are you using?

    • Which games are you referring to?
    There might be some third party application that is freezing your computer, I suggest you to place the computer in clean boot and check.
    Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.
