Windows 10: Computer freezing and requires power button to be held down to turn off and reboot PC.

Hello, these are my pc specs:OS: Windows 10 homeProcessor: i5-10400FGraphics card: GTX 1050tiThe computer freezes at very random times. No specific action makes it freeze.I saw other threads where someone fixed it by changing ports and another ran a disk check. I ran a disk check it found corrupted files which was cleaned in the next reboot but the problem still persists. Hello. My PC recently froze again twice. Once coming out of sleep mode. I held the power button to turn it off and then back on, and then it froze again shortly after booting up. I have attached the logs in case this helps.

For your suggestion - I had originally began freezing after using drivers that had been giving me no problems since 2022. I then updated to the latest driver (545.84) and continued freezing. I then reformatted my PC with a cloud download of Windows 10. For these reasons I do not think it is a driver issue, as I have tried two different drivers now and went through a reformat.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hello I was able to fix the problem. I did try the bios update you suggested but that didn't fix the problem. The 1080 card I have has 3 display ports. It appears the display port I have been using for the past several years has worn out or become defective. When I swapped the monitor cable to one of the remaining 2 display ports, the random freezing went away completely. I am reporting this information so others can try this as a solution if they ever run in to the same thing. In all my internet searching, there was no suggestions to try using a different displayport on the GPU's card. I think this kind of problem must be incredibly rare, but it should be noted that it can cause a computer to freeze and requite hard resets to get working again.

Also please note that for awhile my secondary monitor has had issues where the screen would go black and then turn on again for probably the past year. This has never caused any issues, and the monitor is over a decade old so I wasn't surprised by this. However, I decided to unplug that monitor from my PC for now. I am now running a single monitor. I have not crashed yet while gaming, and I have put the computer to sleep and out of sleep several times in a row in an attempt to get it to freeze again, but it has not yet frozen. However, this is not yet promising because not enough time has passed to be sure that was the problem. I had thought the reformat fixed the issue as I was crash free for 10 hours or so and then when I put the PC to sleep for ~2 hours today and came out of sleep it froze (Freeze #7 in the original post).

I also ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool again and it once again showed 0 memory issues.
