Windows 10: Computer Freezing or Restarting Daily

For almost three months I have been experiencing issues with my computer. I have an Alienware Dell. Generally, within the first hour or two of turning on my computer, it will do one of two things at random and without any warning signs to precede this happening.


Failure 1:

The computer screen will immediately react as if the screen is being turned off and cut to black. The computer is completely unresponsive to any commands or inputs. On some occasions, I might have control over the mouse but that is it. The only way I have found around the issue has been to manually turn off the computer and restart it.


Failure 2:

The computer screen will completely freeze for a few seconds before the computer automatically restarts itself. Again there are no warnings that precede that is about to happen.


In either case, the computer restarts back up and will run fine the entire rest of the day without any other incidents. I thought at first it might be related to overheating from programs being used because sometimes it will occur when I am running a game or watching a video. But oddly enough it never happens when I use even more RAM dependent programs such as photoshop or doing video conferences with my students.


I have replaced the power supply, added a surge protector, given the computer extra space and plenty of ventilation, cleaned off every unnecessary file I can find but this problem still seems to persist. Does anyone know why this might be happening? And what I can do to address the problem?

Ok, just ask and we will go step by step.

For temps monitoring, I like HWinfo. download and install (link was here before). At start it will ask you if running only sensors, check yes and run



Find Temps/ Core max and GPU, click them and graph will show.




You can show it in system tray too. follow like in the picture below

 

Windows 10 Freezing daily

I have an HP computer with an SSD for my Operating System and Apps and an HDD for files. I am experiencing daily freezes with this computer. I did some google searches and found some suggested solutions. The first was to login on a second administrator
account -- I couldn't see where I could do this as I don't have a second administrator account. The next suggestion was to go back to a previous build. I tried to do this through both options (Directly and through Safe Mode). Neither worked -- In the
first case it said going back to a previous build was not an option and in safe mode it said it could not revert because it had been more than 10 days. I'm still struggling with a freezing computer. Any suggestions??? Help??
