    Computer gets BSOD and it usually happens when I shut down or restart the computer.


    Hello, In the last week or so, I have been getting the blue screen of death with an error saying "Kernal Security Check Failure" When I viewed it in Bluescreen view, it says bug check was 0x000000139. I am wondering what has been causing these bluescreens? Things I have tried are as follows: 1. I did a system file checking when the computer rebooted and it found problems and fixed them. 2. Ran antivirus Defender and is clean. 3. Did chkdsk - found no problem 4. Cleaned out my computer by using compressed air. 5. Reseated the RAM 6. Ran Memtest 86+ and let it run

    Random shut down and restart??

    Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
    E220@2.406hz
    2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
    Windows xp

    Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused Computer gets BSOD and it usually happens when I shut down or restart the computer. :confused:*Mad Computer gets BSOD and it usually happens when I shut down or restart the computer. :mad:

    One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

    Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

    Computer is shutting down immediately after turning it on?

    This has started to happen recently and I'm worried. It does not happen always but this week it happened more often. Basically when I am turning my computer on, after a beep it's shutting down. With the second time it turns on and it does not list that my computer shut down suddenly, so to get me into safe mode, etc. but it boots normally.

    I am not sure what the problem is. I removed an additional small fan I had, since I always had it there in the usb, so I thought it could be causing it, but I removed it. I decided to replace my power adapter, since other times I had problem with that & usually they are heating a lot. I bought a cheaper adapter & still the same. I also noticed that this problem usually happens when I turn on my computer after hours. I tried to turn on/turn off my computer between minutes and it did not happen.

    Could it be dust? The CPU? I just hope there isn't any problem with the motherboard.

    Hey everyone, I have a problem with my computer that just recently started to happen.
    My computer restarts whenever I go to play a game, and only then!

    I have never had this problem before and it just started happening, I am almost 100% sure it is because of overheating, when I start my computer it's on 42, whenever I start a game it quickly rises to about 53-55 then restarts..
    I have a Asus K8N motherboard and I cant find anywhere in the BIOS on how to stop it from restarting!
