Windows 10: Computer gets stuck when resetting

So for the first time in forever I got do to some gaming yesterday on my computer (Acer Nitro 5 if that helps any). Everything was running smoothly as usual and upon powering off nothing unusual happened.

Upon booting up my computer this morning for class, everything seemed to work fine until I opened Chrome. The browser would freeze, but in the sense that would crash or display the typical "your browser is not responding" message. It just wouldn't do anything. At first I thought it was my mouse, but after a few minutes I was able to close the Chrome window. I opened it again and had the same results, and when I decided to restart my computer, I had to force it to power down because the regular shut down button wasn't working.

Ever since then, when I turn my computer on the screen just stays as an off-black colour and nothing happens. I've tried resetting it, but I keep getting stuck on a random percentage or a boot loop. I'm really at a loss here and I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas? Would it be worth downloading the necessary software from a different pc to manually reinstall it?

is it possible to hand build a motherboard?

Might I suggest you simply build a computer, making notes and taking pictures step by step. Most people (probably including your teacher) have no idea even where to start building a computer. You'll do fine, and if you get stuck we're here to help ya out! *Toast :toast:

 

Stuck at 64% after reset.

• Even after resetting, does it still get stuck at 64%?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
