Windows 10: Computer has been very slow running games recently

So recently, I had this issue that my headset mic was not working which is fixed now but I reinstalled my realtek drivers in the process of trying to repair it. My computer is fine now, however it is very sluggish when running games even though it was completely fine before. I mostly play fortnite valorant gta and some other games which used to run perfectly fine. Now it is really stuttery when running these games. Fortnite is literally unplayable now, it freezes upon landing and when I do manage to make it past the loading screen it is a stuttery and freezing mess and unplayable. In the few s

Wanting to run old games

I would suggest you to refer the below link and check the compatibility of the game with Windows 10.

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.

        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.

From the screenshot that you have provided, I understood that it’s not the issue with the disk usage. The slowness might be due to the memory usage.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run maintenance task and check if it helps.

  Select Control panel and Select System and Security.

  Click on Troubleshoot common computer problems under System and maintenance.
