Windows 10: Computer ignores shutdown blockers

Hello, I have a few apps that used to save a few things like workspaces, open files etc, and I'd get a notification on my screen that "X app is preventing you from shutdown", or it would show a reason as to why shutdown is delayed, but recently this functionality does not work on my computer, I tried several apps like "Don't sleep" and "Shutdown blocker" but the computer just shuts down normally. I also developed an application that would delay shutdown in order to make an API call, but that app does not prevent restart/shutdown, although it did about 3 months ago, so something changed in Windows. Anyone has any idea as to why this is happening?

Hi,

Pop-up blocker helps user to prevent pop-ups from displaying in a user's Web browser.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Internet Explorer:

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Open the gear icon at the upper right of the Internet Explorer.
• Select Internet Options.
• Under Privacy tab, put a check mark on Turn on Pop-up Blocker.
• Click OK.

Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Microsoft Edge:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Open More (icon with three dots) and select Settings.
  
• Click View advanced settings.
• Turn Block pop-ups to On.
