Windows 10: Computer is continuously running high - Browsers are freezing

I have a very "clean" computer with no problems. Lenovo 710-15ISK. I have regularly scheduled Defrag and virus scans through Windows. But lately my web browser, Microsoft Edge, has been freezing when I only have one program/app open. My computer also continues to run high in background when all apps are closed and internet is turned off.


The task manager shows certain processes running "Very High", but just one at a time. All others are "Low" or "Very Low". ....Right now the process "Migration Plugins host program" is running very high.


What else can I check to get my computer back up and running smoothly?

Update Freezing Web Browsers

There may be some browser components that do not sit well with the new updates installed on your computer. Before we can resolve the error, please answer these questions for us to understand what happens:

• Do you get any error messages when the browsers freeze?
• Are Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge affected?
• Does the problem occur when you access a specific site?

We suggest you delete the browser history, or completely reset the browsers that are affected.

I suggest you to perform Clean boot by following the steps from the link below and check if the issue is resolved.



Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.



You can open the system configuration window in Windows 10:



Step 1: Using
run command.

• Press Windows Key + R keys on the Keyboard.
• Type msconfig.msc and press Enter.

Step 2: Using
Cortana.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard and type
  msconfig.
• Select the top most search result.
