Windows 10: computer is not communicating with monitor although there is power to both.

My computer has stopped communicating with my monitor after 6 years Thus I have no way of interacting with machine at all. There is power to both computer and monitor but the machine does not boot up. Any ideas ??

New Lenovo monitors wont turn on; low power mode turns on and screens go black.

Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type in Power Settings.
• On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
• Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Power light stays on after shutddown

Initially, I suggest you to run the power troubleshooter
and check if it helps.

Power troubleshooter will automatically fix some common issues with Power Plans. It checks things like your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the search box of task bar.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting and click on
  System and Security.
  
• 
  Click on Power and follow the onscreen instructions.
