  1. Computer is not working after newest Windows 11 Cumulative Update on 6/13

Following this update, my computer would take an extremely long time to load anything so much so that I really couldn't do much of anything on my computer especially anything related to gaming. Luckily, I was able to system restore to before this update took place and everything was working as intended. However, I accidentally restarted my computer and apparently, it just installed the Windows Update without my knowledge and now nothing works again and I cannot access the old system restore I used the first time. This is truly a disaster and has ruined my last two days thanks to Microsoft and

  2. Win10 cumulative update freezes computer

I'm running WIN10 1607 on a Gateway DX4860 PC that was originally installed with WIN7. It's been doing fine until recent auto-updates, which have caused it to freeze. On restart, I have been able to use Troubleshooting tools to restart in safe mode. And
I eventually discovered that if I unplugged everything from the PC except the mouse and screen, I could get it to restart, outside of safe mode, and it would undo updates and return to normal. This has happened twice now with hours of troubleshooting trying
    different restart, restore combinations.

One other clue: on reviewing the update history, I found the following:

    • All other updates in the history were successful except the following.
    • 6/13/2017 failed: 2017-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4022715).
    • 5/23/2017 failed: 2017-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4019472).
    • 4/30/2017 failed: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4015438).
    • The last successful Cumulative Update was 4/13/2017: (KB4015217).

Based on past behavior, I fear that the computer will continue to freeze every time it's restarted as it tries to push these updates through. With the computer operating normally for the moment, I would like to find a way to prevent this from continuing to
happen. What options would you suggest? Thanks in advance for you help.

  3. Install error - 0x800f0831 on windows 11 2022-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5012592)

I cannot install 2022-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5012592). The installation did not complete and now my computer is unstable. I have tried troubleshooting and all the steps listed in the previous post. Any changes to Windows 11 do not complete. My computer reboots several times a day and locks up at least 2 times per day.

Computer is not working after newest Windows 11 Cumulative Update on 6/13

Microsoft controversially brings cumulative updates to W7 & W8.1

True. Anyone remembers how long it took to update vanilla Windows 7 with all updates released just 6 months later. It took ages even on high end systems. Windows 10 with cumulative takes like few minutes a year after vanilla was released.
