    Security certificate issue

    Hi Doug,

To help you resolve your concern, please follow these steps:

    • Open Microsoft Edge and access Nextdoor.com, click
Continue to this website (not recommended). There should be a
      Certificate warning
      that will appear.
    • Click the Certificate Error button to open the information window.
    • Click View Certificates, and then click Install Certificate.
    • On the warning message that appears, click Yes to install the certificate.

Please let us know the outcome

When did this start happening? Were there any changes prior to the issue?

For now, the best action we can take is to turn off the Warn about certificate address option in
    Internet Options.

Follow these steps to do so:

    • Press the Windows key and type Internet Options. Once it shows up, select it to open.
    • Navigate to the Advanced tab, then browse to the Security
section to find the Warn about certificate address mismatch option.
    • Uncheck it and click Apply, then OK, and restart your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Security certificate issue

You are definitely right, it is not a browser specific issue. The reason for us trying to install the Security Certificate to your computer is for your browser to identify the secured website that you are trying access.

Since you are not getting a prompt on your browser to install the security certificate, please follow these steps on how to Manage Trusted Root Certificates in Windows:

    • Open Run box by pressing Windows icon + R then type
      mmc and hit enter.
    • Click File and select Add/Remove Snap-in.
    • Under Snap-in, select Certificates then click
      Add.
    • Click OK and in the next dialog box, select Computer account, then
      Next.
    • Select Local computer and then click on Finish.
    • Double click on Console Root and select Certificates, right click on
Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Under All tasks, choose
      Import.
    • Certificate Import Wizard should open, then follow the instructions to complete the process.

Let us now configure and manage trusted root certificate for local computer.

    • Open Run box again and type mmc.
    • Click File and select Add/Remove Snap-in.
    • Under Available snap-ins, click Goup Policy Object Editor, then click
      Add.
    • Slect the computer whose local GPO that you want to edit, then click Finish or OK.
    • Going back in the MMC console tree, got to Local Computer Policy> Computer Configuration> Windows Settings > Security Settings. Next is
Public Key Policies. Double-click Certificate Path Validation Settings, and then select the
      Stores tab.
    • Select the Define these policy settings, Allow trusted root CAs to be used to validate certificates
and Allow users to trust peer trust certificates and check boxes.
    • Under Root Certificate stores, select root CAs that the client computers trust and click
      OK.

    Looking forward to your reply.
