Windows 10: Computer keeps crashing/rebooting when playing games

Hi,Within the last couple of days my PC has been crashing/rebooting while I am playing games. Sometimes it happens once and then I can continue playing games all day. Other times it has happened basically back to back within minutes.So far I have been able to track it down to this system error occurring at the time of the crash:A fatal hardware error has occurred.Component: PCI Express Root PortError Source: Advanced Error Reporting PCI ExpressPrimary Busevice:Function: 0x0:0x1:0x0Secondary Busevice

Computer randomly reboots when I play games.


I get random restarts when playing games.
Is this something to do with windows 10 or Nvidia?

Not great with computers but I've only been having this problem the past week or so.

I have done a clean reboot and all that but it keeps happening.

Here are some errors I get in Event Viewer:

• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.217.854.0).
• Driver install failed, result=0x80004005 for devnode 'SAITEK\PROGRAMMABLEDEVICE\7&69BEA2F&0'
• The DSM service was delayed by 12 seconds for a driver query/download/install on device 'SAITEK\PROGRAMMABLEDEVICE\7&69BEA2F&0'
• The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

 

Reboots/Crashes while Gaming

Hello,

I have random crashes while playing games. Its the same problem as in this thread Random-ish reboots

So basically when playing a game the PC randomly crashes into a reboot. This occurs completely random and without warning.

As suggested in the linked thread I disabled fast startup, which sadly didnt fix the problem.

I also monitored my temperatures which are fine. A workaround that seems to be stable is lowering my graphics settings to very low.

I attached my V2 Logs after a Crash. Windows Version is 1909 (OS Build 18363.720)

2. What is the make and model of the PC?
   
3. What happens when you try to run a game?
   
4. Does the PC crashes only while playing games?
   
5. Do you receive any stop code or error message when the PC crashes?

In addition, you can check if Windows is up to date. Refer the article
