    Computer keeps waking itself up from sleep with event code 1014


    It didn't used to do this before, then out of nowhere the past few nights even if it's in sleep mode it keeps waking itself up and i have to keep forcing it back into sleep mode Power > Sleep. When it occurs i check my even viewer and it's the same thing. Event ID 1014, keywords: 268435456, task category 1014 user NETWORK SERVICE. Please help. Searching seems like it has something to do with internet connection but it never did this before where it would wake itself up from sleep mode, even if the internet would cut out on purpose. reset, unplugging etc, would not wake my comp up fro

    How do i get rid of Event ID 1014? It keeps interrupting my Wi-fi connection.

    Computer will not sleep.


    My computer that I've just installed Win 10 on wakes immediately after putting to sleep.

    I've tried all things listed in this thread.

    I've gone into the event viewer and filtered on Power Troubleshooter in Event sources for waking, and it indicates Unknown Source.

    I've check to see that the NW Adapter is set to allow wake, magic packets only.

    The Allow Wake Timers in Power settings is set to Important Wake Timers only.

    I've disconnected all USB devices just for testing the sleep.

    I've run out of ideas. I'll be searching more on Google. But if any other thoughts/suggestions, it's appreciated.

    Hi Bill,

    There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
    so:

    • Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
    • Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
    • From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
      Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
      OK/Apply.

    Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.
