Windows 10: Computer mouse not working, only USB

This problem just happened out of the blue where my mouse on the touchpad isn't working at all and yes my touchpad is on. When I turn on my computer, the mouse doesn't show up/isn't visible at all and when I hold the CTRL button to locate the mouse, and then try moving the mouse from the touchpad and then select CTRL again, the mouse hasn't moved at all. So the mouse doesn't show up at all, and it doesn't move either UNTIL I plug in my USB mouse. This is a brand new computer that I've only had for a couple months, so I'm not sure what the problem is and I was struggling to find anything abou

unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.
