Windows 10: Computer Programming in Windows 10 S Mode

Hello,

I am a first year college student, I am studying computer science and I just got a new laptop. I was wondering if there were a way to download programming software, such as NetBeans IDE, or Java Development kit, while remaining in S mode. I am fairly new to Windows, but it is my presumption that S mode is a safety feature that I might want to keep, I was just wondering if there were any advice or tools, that could help me?

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Computer in sleep mode shuts down open programs

When your computer is in hibernate mode, does all your programs have been shut off or closed? May we know what's the specific program that you use? Let's try to reset Power schemes. Please follow the steps below:

• Right on Start button, > select Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• Copy and paste the command below:
  

powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

• When finished, close the command prompt then reboot your PC.
