    Computer randomly black-screening/crashes. How to fix?


    I am having the problem with my computer that after only a couple of minutes after using it on some games, it goes black screen and reboots. When I check the event log it says the following: "A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source:Machine Check Exception Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 7 The details view of this entry contains further information." I don't know if it's worth noticing that the

    Windows 10 randomly black screens then crashes

    Hey.
    For the past week my computer is randomly crashing. The computer freezes with a static noise coming from the speakers then there is a black screen without sound but the computer is on and then the computer crashes and starts booting to windows again. I tried sfc /scannow and it says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations". I also went on the reliability monitor and it says "Windows was not properly shut down" (see attachment). Thanks in advance!

    Taco this could be software also. Before you get all crazy, do as Erocker suggested. Find out the error in the Event Viewer. Look for the faulting module and the error code itself. Also check the reliability monitor. At the bottom it will have "View all Error Reports". Post a screen of whats in there if anything.

    This could be a simple as a bad driver install.

    ALSO have you downloaded or installed anything lately? STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BIOS UNTIL WE KNOW THE ERROR! lol. I know you. Baby steps boy, baby steps.

    1) Try these fixes for black screen crashes in Windows 10:

    2) The Display driver is so important that merely updating it might not be enough. Try everything here to make sure:

    Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account to replace yours which may be corrupted. Then if necessary continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.
