  1. Computer Randomly Restarts. Possible Cause Bad Ram Sticks or Ram Module

    Hello All,

My new computer restarts randomly. I followed some steps online which did not work. I came across using Memtest86+ to check for faulty rams. I have completed the test and found 900+ errors in 1 Pass. I also happen to enable driver verification to be able to get dumb files. As soon as I exit Memtest86+ I got BSOD with driver verification. It created a dumb file which refers to ene.sys driver causing the crash. Is this related to the findings from Memtest86+ ?. Also how would I know if it is a bad ram or bad ram modules? I will try using one ram stick at a time and rerunning the test but that might take sometime. I'm wondering if anyone could have some insights.

    Regards,

    :)

    Possible bad RAM

Thread exception not handled, memory management, page fault in nonpaged area, random restarts randomly occur. CPU temps are normal, PSU has no issue. have ran sfc, dism, disk checker, anti-malware, anti-virus, system
repair. I suspect bad ram however memory checker shows nothing. also when I ran Threat exception not handled, memory management, page fault in nonpaged area, random restarts randomly occur. CPU temps are normal,
PSU has no issue. have ran sfc, dism, disk checker, anti-malware, anti-virus, system repair. I suspect bad ram however memory checker shows nothing. Also when I ran the driver verifier I got a bluescreen related to aswVmm.sys and I had to restore from a backup
to turn off the verifier as it did not want to work. How likely is it that I have bad RAM. This isnt the first time I have suspected issues with this RAM, since I installed it just over a year ago my machine was more unstable but it has never been at a level
as bad as it is now.

  3. Could bad [RAM on the] Graphics card cause computer crashes?

Could bad [RAM on the] Graphics card cause computer crashes?

Yes, BSODs. Usually the faulting module is the graphic driver. Make sure to disable "restart on fatal error" to get the info on the BSOD (STOP code and faulting module).

    Ram stick reading possibly incorrect

    Hi Evan,

Your concern about the performance of your device can be due to software conflicts related to the changes in its configuration. To better understand your concern, we'd like to know the following:

    • The last activities performed on your device prior to your concern.
    • The version and build of Windows 10 that you're using on your device. To check this, you can perform the steps posted on this

      link
      .

To validate the size of the random-access memory (RAM) that your device detects, you can perform the following:

    • Search and launch Control Panel using Cortana.
    • Click on System and Security.
    • Click on System.
    • Locate Installed memory (RAM).

In the meantime, we'd recommend performing a clean boot in Windows to isolate software conflicts on your device. To do this, you can perform the steps posted on this link.
In the clean boot environment, check if you'll still experience your concern about the performance of your device. The link will also provide steps to isolate the possible cause of the issue. Once you're done troubleshooting, check the How
to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting
section to revert your device to normal boot.

We look forward to your response.
