Computer randomly slows down periodically after some time

I wiped my entire computer clean, but the issue still persists. After a while, whatever I do, there's a FPS lag when playing any game, video, or even just dragging a window around. I know it's not an issue of too many processes running at once because this occurs even if I have just one game window open or just the browser open.My specs:Geforce RTX 3070Processor IntelR CoreTM i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHzInstalled RAM 32.0 GBDevice ID B22BF39F-D03A-43D7-91F2-F3EE2ED8F7CFSystem type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

  2. Slow Computer

    Hi Sheree,

One of the most common reasons for a slow computer are programs running in the background. Other factors that can contribute to the issue are memory space, malware infection, outdated software, and processor overheating. To improve your computer's performance,
you can check the tips listed on this link. We suggest that you also try to follow the suggested steps.

Feel free to post back if you have further questions.

    Computer periodically and randomly crashing

    Hello!

I'm having trouble with my computer randomly, but only occasionally, shutting down. I'll start up the system and half the time there will be no issue at all. The other half, I'll see large spikes in data and disk usage, slowing performance to a crawl. Sometimes the PC will recover, sometimes it will not and performance will degrade until it eventually shuts down altogether. And like I said, this does not happen every time, but often enough and if it does not happen at startup, it will never happen during a session.

I fear/feared a virus, but scans with BitDefender haven't turned up anything. Some research suggests a memory leak, but none of the suggested fixes I've seen online have worked. I've tried combing my Event Logs, but nothing there stands out either. Drivers are, as far as I know, up to date. I've tried running DISM which has reported corrupted files, but is unable to repair them. This is a relatively new computer as well.

Reading other questions here, I've attached the event logs and system info below. Any help would be very much appreciated! I'm a hair's breadth from doing a system restore under the assumption/hope it's as simple as some corrupt file.

    Hi Richard,

The challenge that you are experiencing with your computer's time zone settings can occur due to several reasons, such as, incorrect time and time zone settings, corrupted system files, etc. To better assist you, kindly answer the following questions:

    • What's the make and model of your computer?
