Windows 10: Computer reboots instead of waking up from Sleep/Hibernate mode

When I put my notebook (ASUS N750JK) to sleep at the end of the day, the next morning it reboots instead of waking up. Every time it happens, the Event Log shows a Critical Event (KernelPower, Event ID 41, I have a log file). It has been happening consistently for the past week (never happened before). The only notable event that could have triggered this off (or not) is the installation of a Windows update (KB4519573) on the day before the problem first surfaced (at least this is the only update that I see in Update History on that date). I tried to uninstall the update, but the problem persisted. Prior to that, it had been OK, and I had used a metered connection for about six months, so no updates. What I have done so far: (1) switched off Hybrid Sleep; (2) ran Power Troubleshooter; (3) verified that I have the latest BIOS. Otherwise the desktop works fine, but it is a really big nuisance to waste about 15 minutes for the reboot every morning. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Sleep Mode... It won't wake up!

thanks, The problem was that on hitting ESC or any key on the keyboard wont wake up the PC either. This seems to be a common problem with Vista from the posts here.
When I pressed the power button funnily enough, it woke up - then I disabled the mouse ability to wake up as you said. I am not sure what the difference is between hibernate and sleep mode. I pressed start and hit sleep last time, perhaps this time I will try hitting hibernate instead. Mind I shouldnt have to do this then I am manually putting it in hibernate or sleep - isnt it supposed to go into sleep mode itself?
Sometimes I am glad I still have Wndows XP and my other PC hee.

This made no difference. Upon trying to wake the computer, it goes into BIOS. The Windows boot drive is absent in the BIOS boot order list, so I have to turn the computer off, then reboot. Upon booting, any windows that were open prior to sleep are now
closed (i.e., it is a cold boot, not a wake from sleep).

 

Computer hibernates instead of sleeping and refuses to wake up

When i put my computer into sleep mode sometimes it becomes completely unresponsive (no lights and fans and such) and the only way to wake it up is to unplug it and then manual power it back on but when it reboots everything i had up is still there which
leads me to think that it goes into hibernation and then does something else that causes it to not regain power and help would be much apreciated
