  1. Computer receives random frame drops during games and normal usage

    Hello.

I am in desperate need of help with solving this issue. I hope it can be fixed.

So about a few months ago after I replaced my GPU fans don't know if that was related to the problem I started having FPS drops. It happened every few minutes whenever I played games or just used my computer normally. At minimum, I go from 144 FPS - 80 but I can even have frame drops from 144 - 7. It usually isn't that severe but it made games harder to play than usual.

Here are among the things I've tried:

    • Reinstalling Windows 10
    • Replacing SSD
    • Turning on ultimate performance mode which should unpark cores if I'm correct
    • Checked for malware and viruses
    • Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers and games

    Notes:

I also tried lowering my FPS maximum to 25 in one of the games and I still get frame drops. Just that the frames can't go much lower since there aren't many frames, to begin with.

    Specs:

    OS: Windows 10 pro-64-bit

    Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
    Ram: 2x8GB DDR4 3000MHZ

Motherboard: gigabyte b450 wifi pro mini itx

    GPU: GTX 1070 palit

Storage: Kingston A2000 500gb SSD NVME and Seagate 1TB 2.5 HDD

sound: Realtek Audio Device & NVIDIA HD

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    :)

  2. Random frame drops while task manager isnt open.

So recently in the past two days. I run a game called Dead By Daylight and my frames for some reason decide to drop from 150 to 70-80 frames. as soon as I open my task manager for a split second it says 100% cpu usage and then it goes down to 50% which
is the game and OBS. I have updated windows and I have confirmed its not OBS as it happens when im playing games offline while also streaming. I have tried everything but to no avail. so to sum it up I try to play games and stream and my frames drop from 150
to 70-80 and the game is laggy and the stream is laggy and when I open up my task manager my frames go back to normal. Task manager also closes it's self between 0-30 minutes and as soon as it does it the frames drop and I have to reopen it for my frames to
get back to normal. I would really appreciate the help with this problem as I have run out of all idea's and everything.

  3. Gaming Frame Rate Drop

I was monitoring the VRAM usage with GPU-Z. In Battlefield 3 there was a scene that a tank was shooting at me every 2-3 seconds, so the frames were dropping a lot, however GPU-Z was not showing any usage above 1800 MB.

Also when the frames drop the coil whine disappears for a second (suggesting that the card is not working that hard), so can it be another component that is bottlenecking it?

In the same time when I first installed Far Cry 4 it was running at 70 fps, whereas now it won’t go above 40 fps, therefore I suspect it may be a defective component.

    Frame drops

What are the best ways to stop/prevent frame drops in games.

For example I have a Asus OG Strix 4gb Radeon RX470 but in games like Overwatch whenever I jump into the action my frames start to plummet
