Windows 10: Computer Restarts in certain games after Win 10 Upgrade

Hi, as in tile like 1-2 weeks ago i done the Win 10 upgrade from Win 7 for couple reasons, everything went fine, i updated everything i can downloaded all drivers etc i also started today running EVGA precision XOC checking if that would help but not.. My computer restarted literally minutes ago.

Whats the funny thing is when i was playing Warzone or EU4 nothing like that ever happened and i spend a loot of hours in those games since upgrade to win 10, also those games where transferred with upgrade and updated, BUT when i tried to play Risk of Rain 2 or Frost Punk (both i downloaded as new if that change anything) today both games Ror after certain longer span of time restarted my PC and Frost Punk literally after 5-10min every time.

Im using two monitors, Intel Core I5-6600K CPU 3.50Ghz GeForce GTX 980TI.

Also i was testing Frost Punk And my temp was around 70-75 and CPU usage 50-90% GPU around 50% while having Stream on second screen.

On windows 7 i don't have any problems like that my power should also be fine.

Problem with games on Win 10

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.



I would suggest you to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.
        
      • 
        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

 

Upgrade from 8.1 to Win 10

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

• Is this laptop compatible with Windows 10?
• Are there drivers for Windows 10 for this laptop on HP website?

I would suggest you to temporarily disable/un-install any HP's software if you have installed.

Also, I would suggest you to start the upgrade by un-installing the updated drivers and installing basic windows drivers.

Follow the steps mentioned below:

  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Expand Network/Device adapters, Select the adapter, right click and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  
  Now start the upgrade from an ISO and see if that helps.
