Windows 10: Computer running slow and stuck on "Getting Windows Ready" Screen

Hey everyone. Realized my computer has been running slow recently and decided to check for updates. Did my typical malware and virus scan and it showed I was totally clear of anything. Checked for updates and sure enough I had one. Downloaded it and my computer kinda sh*t itself. Now its stuck on preparing windows. Help?

For us to effectively assist you, may we ask if you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?

Have you tried any possible troubleshooting steps? If yes, what are those steps? This is to avoid repeating of the possible steps done.

If Windows 10 install gets stuck on the message "Getting Windows ready", it is possible that the internet connection might be running slow. Kindly ensure that your internet connection can suffice the download during the update. The other thing would be a conflict
from external devices. We suggest temporarily disconnect all peripherals aside from mouse and keyboard.

Computer stuck at getting windows ready

So my computer was acting very slow today. I looked at the hd and it said i only had 60gigs available out of 1tb which is literally impossible since i have maybe 3 or for programs installed and almost nothing else. I tried checking the hd for errors and
after that process was complete it showed that i had zero space. So i tried restarting my computer and its been stuck on the "getting windows ready don't turn off screen" for almost 5 hours now. What should i do?
