Windows 10: Computer running slow, problems with opening apps and files, along with battery depleting...

A few weeks ago, I got into cinematography. I first noticed problems then. I moved a 40 GB file from an SD card onto my laptop. The icons on my desktop were freaking out and changing, flashing error messages then showing no problems at all. I deleted some an unused app that was taking up a lot of space and the icons went back to normal. I'm not sure if the rest of the events are related or not, but they started happening at that point. My laptop has died several times overnight as well. It shows that it was at 100% for a few hours, then it randomly drops to 50% in an hour, and the next h

1. Since when are you facing this issue?
2. Have you made any changes on your computer, prior to this issue?

To fix issues with Word documents opening slowly, I suggest you to attach a different template to the document and check if that helps. Follow the below steps to attach a templates.

Steps:-

1. Open Word application.
2. Click on File and select Options.
3. Select Add-Ins from the list.
4. Under Manage Select Templates and click on
   Go.
5. In the pop up, type Normal in the Document template.
6. Click on Ok.

To fix issues with Adobe files opening slowly follow the below troubleshooting steps and check if that helps.

Steps:-

1. Open Adobe application.
2. Click on Edit.
3. Select Preferences option.
4. Tap on General.
5. Uncheck Enable protected mode at startup.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Depleted Battery & Phone Shutting Down

Hello Everyone



I was wondering; the other day I was talking on the phone and my battery was so low that the phone shut itself off.

Is there any "Automatic Shutdown" procedure by the software behaviour when the battery is depleted, or simply, literally the phone just goes dead???



Also, if the phone turns itself off when the battery is depleted, would it damage any "System Files" or any other important files that would cause phone not to function properly?



Does anyone know this procedure? Does this ever happen to you? I mean depleting the battery while talking on the phone and the phone turn itself off, or just goes dead?
