  1. Computer screen turns blank and unresponsive during screen recording

    Some context about my device:

    Lenovo AIO 520-24IKU All-in-one Ideacentre

    IntelR Core TM i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz

    8GB RAM 1TB HDD

If you need anything else let me know.

My problem is that twice now, my computer crashes I think when screen recording. I can record for around 10 minutes just fine before my computer screen goes completely blank and unresponsive. The screen isn't black though, and my PC doesn't turn off. I can still hear my PC working in the background. The devices connected to it still show they are connected the light is on but things like ctrl + alt + del and ctrl + shift + esc fail to do anything. Eventually, I'm forced to shut the computer off via the power button, but I'm hesitant to do that.

Here are the event viewer logs? for each of the two occasions it has crashed.

First occasion Using Loom - a screen recording app:

A thing to note is that the second time around, the unexpected shutdown message is referring to the time the screen turned blank, not the time I forced it to shut down. The first time around, the message is referring to the time I forced it.

I'm just wondering what could've caused these sudden bouts of unresponsiveness? and perhaps any solutions. This hasn't happened in any other context, just with the screen recording. Thanks for taking your time to read this!

    :)

  2. Blank Screen

    Hi Virginia,

Conflicts with third-party software and outdated graphic drivers are common contributors to the black screen issue that you're having. To isolate the said issue, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    • Are you getting any error messages before getting a blank screen?
    • Are you experiencing this when using a particular app?
    • Were there any changes made on your computer settings prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you refer to this
    article
which talks about the steps you can take to resolve blank screen errors.

We'll wait for your response and assist you accordingly.
