I purchased Win 10 Enterprise for both my laptop and Desktop and then added both devices on my Microsoft Account. Both devices showed Win 10 Enterprise OS installed. I went to a Computer Repair Shop to upgrade my laptop HDD to SSD. Before going, I did a complete reset by deleting all the data and just having the OS on the laptop. When I got home from the Computer Repair Shop, I noticed my laptop had Win 10 Home Editon installed. I logged onto my Microsoft Account from my laptop to check the OS for the laptop. The device name was now different for my laptop. The OS had changed from Win 10 Enter

Upgraded Windows Transfer from HDD to SSD

My windows was upgraded from 8 to 10 on my laptop few years back. I was trying to get the HDD replaced with SSD. During the copy process, the technician said windows cannot be moved to SSD as it is an upgraded version from 8 to 10.

Kindly guide if there is a possibility to copy the windows to SSD ? If so, please suggest the steps.

 

Clean install of windows 11 on SSD (current OS on HDD)

I am planing to install a SSD in my laptop, which already has HDD. laptop support SSD and HDD together. The currest OS on the HDD and i want to do a fresh install on the SSD, Please can anyone write a step by step guide on what to do, i am not confident on this.

It is a very strange situation, but I wouldn't say it is uncommon.
My experience with the issue over the years is listed as follows:

1) Sony laptop, originally with Win 8.1, upgraded to Win 10. Then issue appeared, when before the upgrade, no such issue. So in this situation, there are the possibilities of hardware compatibility, etc. [this was early on during the Win 10 rollout, so likely could be that if the situations below wasn't also a factor]

2) Dell laptop, bought new from the store, pre-installed with Win 10. All updates are installed correctly, but from time to time, HDD will get stuck at 100% usage, even though nothing is happening. No services are running, no programmes, no antivirus. We reset the laptop, flash the bios, update all the drivers. Problem persists. We even contact support through the feedback hub, they try a bunch of things, the problem persists. Only after switching from HDD to SSD did the problem disappear. [So here, there starts to be suspicion on how Win 10 handles HDD. If hardware compatibility was an issue, why was this laptop sold with faulty hardware?]

3) MSI laptop, also brand new, has two HDD, one 250GB OS drive, one 1TB storage drive [no SSDs, HDDs]. The same issue occurs. Went through the community forum, online forums, windows guides, everything. Still, the problem persists. And this was tackled over a span of two years. The only solution was to remove the 250 HDD and replace it with an SSD. [Again, top tier gaming laptop, why was it sold with faulty hardware]

4) Previous company bought a whole bunch of Dell laptops, all with the same problem, had to replace all with SSDs. This is where it gets crazy because not everyone can afford to do that.

So if it's not hardware, because it seems all brands of HDD and laptops present the same issue, if it's not drivers, if it's not BIOS, then it has to be the way Win 10 was designed.
