Windows 10: computer shutdown is slow plus restart leads to a black screen on startup and is also slow

Discus and support computer shutdown is slow plus restart leads to a black screen on startup and is also slow in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; so this has been happening for a while now and i don't know how to fix it, so like when i shutdown it says shutting down and takes almost 5 or so...     so this has been happening for a while now and i don't know how to fix it, so like when i shutdown it says shutting down and takes almost 5 or so minutes to shut down but when i turn on the PC the log in takes about 20 minutes to log in, so the restart takes like also 5 minutes to stop saying restarting then when the PC boots up its just a black screen with mouse and keyboard on but no display of the PC shows up. can some help please?

    Slow Startup

    Does anybody know why I am having really slow system startups? I don't have extra startup programs than I use to have. The only thing that I think it could be is my antivirus program. I use AVG now since I reformated 2 days ago..and every since then, I have a really slow startup..I don't know if that is the reason..Does anybody have any suggestions, on how to speed my startup? I use to be able to be on my desktop screen in like 35-40 seconds at most. And now it is way over a minute. Any help would be gr8.

    laptop restart and shutdown slow process

    Hi,

    My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I understand from the description that the laptop takes time to shut down and also during startup. Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue.

    Step 1:

    Go to search box next to windows icon and type Task Manager

    Step 2:

    Click on Task Manager to open

    Step 3:

    Under Task Manager Windows select the Startup tab

    Step 4:

    Under Startup tab select the unwanted apps which might be simply slowing the shutdown and startup process

    Step 5:

    Right-click and Disable

    Step 6:

    Restart Laptop

    Slow Shutdown and Restart

    hey community members, hello to you all...

    it has been a week, since my laptop's taking too long to shutdown and even more to restart.. it takes approximately about 15-20 mins for shutting down and even more for restarting... the startup is fast (a minute)..

    • i've tried sfc /scannow commands and did not find any problems there...
    • i tried troubleshooting power options (it did set back everything to defaults, and somehow the shutdown process was fast (teeny tiny bit fast), but who wants the display to turn off after few minutes? )
    • Fast Startup option is already checked
    i read that enabling VerboseStatus on registry to see the process that's actually slowing down, and i found out that System Event Notification Service is taking too long ...

    haven't yet checked it in safe mode...

    i think System Event Notification Service is the main culprit.. it has been 15 minutes since i shutdown my laptop but it is still waiting for SENS (i am on desktop right now).. is there any other options that i could try?? or resetting back is the only option?
