    Computer shuts down improperly during sleep mode


    Hello,


    I just purchased a brand new Lenovo laptop w/ Windows 10. Whenever I put the computer into sleep mode, it will shut down on its own after 30 minutes-1 hour. I find this out as I try to wake it up from sleep and it does not awake. When I turn it on, I can see that the computer shut down improperly. My work is lost and if I look in the event viewer, I see "the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first." I have no idea what could be causing this. I have looked at the power settings and they are not revealing of any explanation.


    I even tried to put the computer into hibernate mode and the same thing occurred: it shut down improperly during it. I have tried to "reset the pc" through a reinstall of windows through the system, and the same problem is there.


    Any suggestions to troubleshooting/fixing this? This is incredibly frustrating.

    My computer is shutting down in sleep mode. I have contacted Microsoft 3 times and nothing is resolving this issue. We have tried system restore, changing power functions and they actually did a manual upgrade and it's still shutting down. I am
    concerned having to turn the computer back on is going to damage the life of the computer. Any other suggestions?

    Computer shuts down instead of going in to sleep mode

    Since two weeks my Dell laptop is shutting down every time when:

    • Closing the laptop
    • Pressing the power button short
    • Manually via the Start Menu
    All these options are set to Sleep Mode and not Shut Down.
