    Computer shuts down or goes to sleep after 1 day, despite power settings


    Hello,


    My computer shuts down or goes to sleep after around 1 day, despite the fact it is set to never go to sleep when plugged in. Any suggestions regarding this issue would be appreciated.

    computer goes to sleep every few minutes despite settings

    My laptop goes to sleep every few minutes despite the settings I have. I even have it set to not go to sleep when plugged into power and it still does.

    Lenovo Laptop - Windows 10 - Power and Sleep Settings Not Working

    Despite selecting 'Never' for 'When plugged in, turn off after' for both 'Screen' and 'Sleep' within the 'Power and Sleep Settings' window--please see attached screen dump--and my laptop being plugged in, it still goes to sleep / shuts down after a short time of inactivity. Can any suggest why it is doing this and how to fix it?

    Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • From when are you facing this issue?

    This issue might have corrupted power plan settings. Try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Run the Power Troubleshooter


    Power troubleshooterfind and fix problems with your computer's power settings to conserve power and extent battery life


    • Type Troubleshooting in the
      Search bar on the desktop and press Enter.

    • In the Troubleshooting window, click on
      View All on the left pane.

    • Click on Power.

    • Click on Advanced and then click on
      Run as Administrator.

    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

    Method 2: I suggest you to check for the pending updates and check if it helps.

    Steps:

    • Connect to the internet.
    • Press Windows key and type
      updates.
    • Click on Check for updates.
    • Under Windows Updates, click on
      Check for updates.
    • Try to install the updates being shown.
