  1. Computer sleeps after 20 seconds, despite power plan settings

I'm at my wits' end. I have a new Lenovo ThinkPad, which was updated to Windows 11 right out of the box.The power plan settings are all on a pretty standard configuration. It says it should be waiting around 10 minutes before sleeping. Instead, it sleeps after only 20 seconds of inactivity. The one exception is if I'm watching a YouTube video. I suppose YouTube must be pinging it with some kind of signal to keep it from sleeping. Otherwise, it doesn't matter what I'm doing; I get 20 seconds before sleep.I've tried resetting the power plan to defaults.I've tried updating the display driver. I'v

    Power plan?

Upon checking, it seems that there's nothing wrong with your system. It is usual that you have to double-click your mouse before your monitor wakes up.

For the meantime, we suggest changing the power plan by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + S.
    • Type in Power Settings.
    • On the pop-up window, choose Additional power settings.
    • Select High performance.

After changing the power plan, we suggest that you monitor the changes made and check if that will work for you.

Get back to us if you need further help.

Win10 - Computer sleeps despite power settings; NVIDIA vs. Intel Graphics

    Hi Wren,

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue fixed.

You can run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep
mode. Adjusting these settings can help you conserve power and extend your computer's battery life.

Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
      Control panel.

    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons

    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel

Please revert if you have issues with computer sleeping.

    Thank you.

    Sleep

    Hi,

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

    • Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
      Enter
      :
      • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
    • Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
    settings is set to Never.

Let us know if the steps above helped you to resolve the issue.
