Computer started crashing - strange report "root\cimv2:SELECT __Relpath, Name, Caption,...

    Greetings:

I went to my computer tonight and could turn on the display. I initially thought that the display had burned out, but it is working. I had shut my computer down a couple of times with the power button. When it came back, the screen display resolution and scaling were off, and several other setting were lost. When the display went to sleep, it required a login which I don't use and sever applications had been shut down.

I ran perfmon /report and got this error:

root\cimv2:SELECT __Relpath, Name, Caption, Description, DisplayName, PathName, Started, ExitCode, State, ServiceSpecificExitCode FROM Win32_Service

    I then ran

    sfc /scannow

The report said the corrupted files had been fixed. But when I ran another perfmon /report they're still there.

First, is this potentially serious? Second, any ideas on how to repair this?

    Thanks!

    J.M.

    :)

How to write a caption on 'Pin to Start' selected websites.

On Win8.1 I could type out a caption for Start screen websites I pinned to the Start screen. With W10 it appears I can only click on the ... in the top right corner of the site select 'Pin to Start' but have no control over the title of the caption. I know I can save them to 'Favourites' & type the caption. Any suggestions please?.

How to write a caption on 'Pin to Start' selected websites.

In Windows 10, you can do what you desire, to a certain degree, with Internet Explorer, but with Edge, you'll need to create a website specific desktop shortcut for Edge then Pin that to Start:

New shortcut - enter the directive (in yellow) then your website URL (in red), name it what you wish and customize the icon if desired.
