Windows 10: computer starts as normal then display goes blank.

Hi all,This is a tricky one, start pc and display is normal until windows has loaded then the display goes blank. I can use start up optionsto start in a lower resolution and then when I get to the desktop I can increase the resolution and all is well.The only way I can get it to start properly from shutdown is if I lower the resolution before I shut it down. It seems Windows is trying to load a resolution that is not supported during a normal start up.Gtx 1080-ti and a 1920 x 1080 monitor.I've tried removing and re installing the latest drivers but nothing seems to work.Any ideas?CheersAlec

Computer Display Goes Glitchy

• When exactly does the issue occur?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  
• Are you aware of any changes on the computer recently?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below and check if that helps in resolving the issue:



Method 1: Safe mode



We can check if the issue is caused by any third party application or service by booting the computer into safe mode. Follow the steps from the article

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10. If the computer works fine in safe mode, we can perform a clean boot from safe mode environment and then troubleshoot to check which application or service is causing the issue.



Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However,
that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section
How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot
to check which program is causing the issue.

Method 2: Updating drivers



You can try to update the display drivers and see if that makes any difference. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Display adapters.
   
3. Right click on the display driver and select
   Update Drivers.
   
4. Restart the computer if prompted.

Monitor goes blank for a couple of seconds

Hello John,

It is possible that the driver for your display adapter was updated when you received a Windows update. To assist you with your concern, let's perform these troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue:

Step 1: Run the troubleshooter to fix common hardware issue:

• Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type
  Troubleshoot.
• Choose Troubleshoot in the results.
• Under Find and fix other problems highlight
  Hardware and Devices then click
  Run the troubleshooter.

Step 2: If the issue still persists, try to uninstall the driver and reboot the computer to reinstall it. Here's how to uninstall your display adapter driver.

• Right click on the Windows/Start button and choose Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right-click the driver and click Uninstall.
• Reboot computer.

Screen goes blank after changing BIOS settings/

I don't know how long this has been happening, a few weeks at least, but whenever I change a setting in my BIOS (and save & exit), my screen goes blank and my monitor goes into standby. Any suggestions to fix this?
