  1. Computer Startup & Updates Causing Settings and Applications to be logged out and wiped.

I updated my computer with the 2024-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems & 2024-02 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 KB5034467 on 2/14/2024. Since then, every time my computer restarts or another update comes along, my computer wipes all my logins and some Microsoft apps do not open. My computer goes back to Factory settings but does not delete my applications. All the applications are on my computer but some do not open and the others have logged me out. Please someone explain why this is happening

    :)

Computer wont restart after trying to change startup settings

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I will surely help you with this issue.

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

    1. Conflict between external devices.

    2. Conflict with third party applications.

    Try the steps listed here:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to disconnect all the external devices and also make sure you have installed all the available Windows Updates.

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to set the computer in a clean boot and check if it helps.
Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Internet connection causes computer to loose power.

    Hello Cliff,

An outdated network adapter can be one possible reason for this.
To isolate the issue, kindly provide us these details:

    • Have you made any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • How are you connected to the internet? Is it via Ethernet cable or is it wirelessly connected?
    • Have you installed the latest Windows updates?

To help us diagnose the cause of this error, we would suggest that you follow these steps:

Step 1: Boot into safe mode and check if the issue persists

Safe mode starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services. To boot into safe mode, kindly follow the steps on this link.

Step 2: If issue does not persist in safe mode, we suggest you to place the computer in clean boot and check which third party application driver is causing the issue.

Follow the steps on this link to
    perform a clean boot.

Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.

We’ll keep an eye out for your response.

Windows Service not running at computer startup / restart.

@Samurai - Thanks for the suggestion, but how does this recommendaiton work with an already existing service? Because the service is already listed in the services list, it just refuses to start when set to "Automatic" when I startup or restart the computer. By the looks of the "runaservice" download, it will create a whole new service in the services list, as if I don't currently have one.
