Windows 10: Computer stuck at Automatic Repair after screen turned black

I got a new laptop 3 days ago and i've basically only used it to set it up install apps, customize backgrounds, transferring files from my older laptop, etcI was using my laptop, just checking some folders, when the screen turned black except for the mouse. I waited several minutes, but nothing happened, so i shut down the computer. Turned it back on, same thing happened, shut it back down. Waited for the laptop to cool down a bit, turned it back on, got a blue screen and automatic repair said to go back to a previous save at the risk of uninstalling apps and so I did. it shows that for about 5 seconds and then the screen turns black With a white foggy bit

Fixing this gaming PC for a friend. His computer gets stuck on the windows logo with the dotted spinning circle. In the past to fix this i've done a startup repair. But this time, the PC starts the Preparing Automatic Repair, then screen goes black, where normally it should be showing diagnosing your pc before loaded the Automatic Repair screen.

What should I attempt to try next?
