Windows 10: Computer stuck in UEFI mode when installing Windows 10

I will try my best to list the set of events that occured and the specifics of how this issue came to be, it is relevant to solving this issue. My computer/laptop is an ASUS ROG G750


I reset my computer and everything was fine, then I had some issues with MediaMonkey skipping in some songs and figured it might be an issue with my computer. Then I reset my computer again, but this time it didn’t reset normally, the system volume information was corrupted somewhere which made my computer stuck is a Reset-recovery loop. To fix this I decided to go out and buy a Windows 10 Pro bootable USB, which seemed to work until I tried to install a Wacom Driver which required me to restart my computer.


My computer woke to a “Your device need to be repaired”, it listed Winload.efi in System 32 as the main cause of the problem. The only option that would let me continue further was to go into UEFI settings, oddly though when the USB with Windows 10 is plugged in all I needed to do was Save and Quit and windows would load normally after my computer attempted repairing the corrupted volume location (I have a picture of the volume location that it was trying to repair). This wouldn’t have been an issue since I could get into windows and use it normally, but my computer was unable to install updates.


Out of frustration I looked up what to do in command prompt and it told me to format any drives that windows is not installed on (which obviously was a stupid idea in hindsight, but anger can sometimes make dumb ideas seem reasonable) so the only drives that are not formatted is the drive with Windows installed and the USB.


So now my computer is stuck in UEFI mode (Not the blue UEFI settings screen) which doesn’t allow me to reinstall windows on any drives because “this drive is a GPT partition style”. There are very few options I have left in terms of getting this monster of a mess working again. When my computer starts up with the USB, a black screen with the options of installing Windows 64 bit and 32 bit appear, as well as windows memory diagnostic tool on the bottom of the screen.


It seems like the only things I can use right now are:

-Command prompt

-USB Win10 (uefi mode does not allow me to install windows on any drives)

-Windows memory diagnostic tool (test results do not display after restart as I am unable to log on)


I will gladly provide any pictures of all the screens I have visual access too if it will help in solving this problem.

Trouble installing windows 7 on RAID in UEFI

As the title says, I'm trying to install Windows on a RAID array in uefi on my Maximus V Formula. When using legacy ROM I can install just fine but I go into CSM and change settings to UEFI only, I can build the array in the UEFI Raid driver (IRST tab in "BIOS") but the array does not show up in the boot menu and when I try to install windows (boot from UEFI DVD drive), The drive does not show up in the Windows install. The next thing I tried was to enable UEFI and legacy oprom in CSM, boot from UEFI DVD drive and install to the RAID array (probably detected by legacy oprom) and it will install. After first reboot, Windows Boot manager will show up as an option in the BIOS boot menu so I set that as first boot device and reboot. I will get to the starting windows screen and then BSOD (too quick to get codes) The last thing I tried was Changing to legacy mode and installing windows to a different drive. once installed, I initialized the Raid array as GPT and rebooted, changed csm back to UEFI only but they RAID array still doesn't show in the boot device list so I repeated the earlier process hoping that It might work because I had initialized as GPT but it still BSODs on starting windows screen. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

Trouble installing windows 7 on RAID in UEFI

I think you were on track with your first try. Windows installer probably needs the RAID driver in order to detect it on install.

 

Installing Windows 7 in UEFI Issues

I have an ASUS ROG RAIDR Express PCIE SSD which I have it in UEFI mode where I was able to install Windows 7 successfully on it with my motherboard BIOS set to UEFI mode and CSM to UFEI as well. But now when I connect my storage HDD's and my 2 Corsair Neutron GTX SSD's which I set up in a RAID0 array in Legacy mode along with my Blu-ray RW optical drive, they're not recognized in Windows at all. How can I get Windows to recognize my drives in UEFI if even possible at all? I've tried switching the CSM back to Legacy to see if that'll work, but my system gets stuck in boot loop after the Intel RAID setup screen.
