Windows 10: Computer stuck on opening picture with no mouse input

For a few months every so often my PC will turn on while im not touching it, and it did the same last night. Usually it doesnt effect anything and I can use it as normal, but today I went to use it after it turned on its own and it didn't open, nor will the mouse cursor show up.I've tried holding the power button for 5-10 seconds, Keep in mind the power button is on the moniter itself and not on the screen doing that after pressing ctrl-alt-delete, holding shift, etc and it still isn't responding. The entire screen is frozen, too, with the time not changing

However, please let us know:

• May I know the default application that is set to open pictures?
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?

It could be possible that the application set to open pictures is not working properly. If Photos app is set as the default application to open
pictures, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

is it possible to hand build a motherboard?

Might I suggest you simply build a computer, making notes and taking pictures step by step. Most people (probably including your teacher) have no idea even where to start building a computer. You'll do fine, and if you get stuck we're here to help ya out! *Toast :toast:

 

Why are videos now opening with a single mouse click?

There's also a setting to INTENTIONALLY have items in Explorer open with one click. I gave it a try for kicks and never went back. It requires you to re-learn how you open much of anything, but once you've got it -- it makes things much faster.
