Windows 10: Computer "stutters" after Windows 10 update 20H2 update 19042.868

Hello


I face again an issue on my desktop since Windows 10 20H2 update. Stuttering twice per second : mouse move is blocked for an instant, video and sound stutter constantly. Computer not usable anymore except for basic functions.


I tried many things , including updating drivers , removing almost all old software, clean restart etc... following advices from other threads.


Eventually I got rid of the stutter temporarily comes again every few minutes instead of twice per second after a SAFE BOOT restart msconfig / start followed immediately by a NORMAL RESTART . I do not dare to retart normally again, so I use the "sleep" mise en veille in French mode at night to keep it workable. Note that stutters is still present after safe restart. Note also stutter disappear completely after rollback to Windows 10 previous version but not sustainable : we are currently forced to update .


PLEASE MICROSOFT do your upmost to deliver fix ! Do you have another suggestion ?

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Anyway , You are luckier than me. My computer was locked directly after updated to Windows 10 . but the solution is easy.

 

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
