  1. Computer suddenly slow, disk always maxed out

    Hi,

My computer has recently become almost unusably slow for some reason. I am not sure of the problem, as I don’t remembering doing anything different that might’ve caused it.

Looking at task manager, my disk is constantly 100% maxed out, I don’t know if this is the cause, as it was always like that.

Currently I am running windows 10 home edition 19042.867

I have tried to restart multiple times to no success.

On a related note, I was recently getting horrible stuttering in games (not a new problem), where the screen would freeze every few seconds. I looked online and was told to update drivers, but when I updated my drivers, now EasyAnticheat crashes when I try to launch games (WaitForSingleObject failed: 2).

If anyone has any idea how to fix, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  2. URGENT HELP NEEDED! HDD suddenly became blank!

    Hey there, @Shamonto Hasan Easha!

I'd try re-plugging the hard drive and checking if the cable is damaged. I'd also suggest to try plugging the drive in another computer and see if it gets recognized properly there. Is it a IDE or SATA drive you're using?
If the drive is unallocated, this means that the partition has been lost after the power went down.
Check out this thread for more ideas on how to solve the issue. There are some detailed steps there that might be useful for you:

    Hope this helped.

  3. Slow Computer

    Hi Sheree,

One of the most common reasons for a slow computer are programs running in the background. Other factors that can contribute to the issue are memory space, malware infection, outdated software, and processor overheating. To improve your computer's performance,
you can check the tips listed on this link. We suggest that you also try to follow the suggested steps.

Feel free to post back if you have further questions.

    slowness in computer usage.

    Hi John,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I appreciate if you could answer a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    • What makes you think that system is running slow? Is it when you are trying to run application?

    • Did you install any third party security application?
From the screenshot that you have provided, I understood that it’s not the issue with the disk usage. The slowness might be due to the memory usage.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run maintenance task and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + X from the desktop.

    • Select Control panel and Select System and Security.

    • Click on Troubleshoot common computer problems under System and maintenance.

    • Now Run maintenance task under
      System and security
      .
Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.
